Dear Parishioners,

This past Monday, we heard the news of the passing of our Holy Father, Pope Francis. Let us unite as a parish family and as members of the universal Church in prayer for the repose of his soul. May the Lord welcome him into the fullness of eternal life.

Today we celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday. This feast, so close to the heart of Saint John Paul II and now deeply rooted in the life of the Church, reminds us of the infinite love and mercy of God.  A mercy that Pope Francis so often spoke of and lived out in his ministry. From his very first homily as pope to his final days, he urged the Church to be a "field hospital," a place where wounds are tended and mercy flows freely.

As we celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday, we are reminded of the promise Jesus gave to St. Faustina
that on this day, the very depths of His mercy is open to us. Let us entrust Pope Francis to that
Divine Mercy and recommit ourselves to being instruments of that same mercy in the world.

Un Mensaje de Su Párraco

Estimados feligreses,

El lunes pasado escuchamos la noticia del fallecimiento de nuestro Santo Padre, el Papa Francisco. Unámonos como familia parroquial y como miembros de la Iglesia universal en oración por el descanso de su alma. Que el Señor le acoja en la plenitud de la vida eterna.

Hoy celebramos el Domingo de la Divina Misericordia. Esta fiesta, tan cercana al corazón de San
Juan Pablo II y ahora profundamente arraigada en la vida de la Iglesia, nos recuerda el amor y la
misericordia infinitos de Dios. Una misericordia de la que el Papa Francisco tantas veces habló y
vivió en su ministerio. Desde su primera homilía como Papa hasta sus últimos días, instó a la Iglesia a ser un "hospital de campaña", un lugar donde se atienden las heridas y la misericordia fluye libremente. 

Al celebrar el Domingo de la Divina Misericordia, recordamos la promesa que Jesús le hizo a Santa Faustina de que en este día, las profundidades de Su misericordia están abiertas para nosotros. Encomendemos al Papa Francisco a esa Divina Misericordia y comprometámonos nuevamente a ser instrumentos de esa misma misericordia en el mundo.
